There are so many
ways to help Yad Leah!
Shipping and distributing
$5 million worth of clothing costs approximately $355,000 annually.
$180 ships enough clothing for a family of 5 for a whole season!

I wanted to take a picture of his smile and shining eyes as he bundled up in his new coat. But I knew it would make the mother uncomfortable. So try to imagine it. It was a beautiful sight to see.

90 Minute Pack for
Israel Experience
Yad Leah volunteers sort and pack the clothing into boxes, ready to be shipped. This is a fun and meaningful activity, perfect for a group experience – we’ve hosted tens of Bar/Bat Mitzvah parties to date!
Other groups who frequently visit are family/friends groups, school groups, and shul N’shei/sisterhoods. We’ve even hosted a YUconnects dating event!

What struck me the moment I walked in was the sheer number of bags that reached theceiling and the enormous task – and mitzvah! – that was involved. By the time I left, it was amazing to see what could beaccomplished in a 90-minute session and how much impact each one of us could have.

Visiting Israel?
Do good on
both sides
of the ocean!
– New moms
– Bat Mitzvah girls
– Kallahs (Brides)
– School children
During their trip, Kesher participants decorate handwritten notes and put them together with items they brought in order to create beautiful and heartwarming packages of love. They also learn about and get actively involved in doing good for those who have less than them.

Bar / Bat Mitzvahs
A Bar or Bat Mitzvah isn’t the same as every other birthday.
It’s a special milestone – the start of a meaningful adult life of
Torah, Mitzvot and giving.

You want your child’s Bar or
Bat Mitzvah celebration to be
Fun, Memorable & Meaningful
A family event at Yad Leah’s volunteer center or a Yad Leah home activity will check all those boxes! Your child, poised at the start of teenage-hood, knows all about the impact their clothing has on them.
They know the joy of a pretty dress or stylish dress shirt and how that affects the way they feel about themselves.
They’ll learn to be givers and to think of those who have less than them – in a hands-on way.
