Bar / Bat Mitzvahs

A Bar or Bat Mitzvah isn’t the same as every other birthday.
It’s a special milestone – the start of a meaningful adult life of
Torah, Mitzvot and giving.

You want your child’s Bar or
Bat Mitzvah celebration to be

Fun, Memorable & Meaningful

A family event at Yad Leah’s volunteer center or a Yad Leah home activity will check all those boxes! Your child, poised at the start of teenage-hood, knows all about the impact their clothing has on them.

They know the joy of a pretty dress or stylish dress shirt and how that affects the way they feel about themselves.

They’ll learn to be givers and to think of those who have less than them – in a hands-on way.

Tour our Warehouse

Come see where the magic happens with a tour of our Passaic, NJ warehouse!

You can also schedule the tour as a memorable culmination to your meaningful event. Personally deliver your collected or created clothing and see what an impact your contribution is making!

Bring your family and friends over to our volunteer center and have fun sorting clothing, and packing and taping boxes to send to Israel.

Fundraise for fun!

Create a fundraising page and let your family and friends also give Yad Leah the power to continue. You can also do this alongside the other options on this page.

Kindness Kits

Have fun with these kindness kit ideas making accessories to send to Israel. (You can even take them yourself as part of the Kesher program.)

We’ll give you step-by-step instructions for making pretty headbands, tie-dying clothing or decorating Kippas to bring a smile to the face of your Israeli sisters and brothers!

These party activity ideas will be enjoyed by participants and recipients alike.

Run Your Own

Kesher Program

Going to Israel in honor of the Bar/Bat Mitzvah? Make your trip even more memorable by joining The Kesher Program! This involves shopping in the US and bringing small, lightweight items to Israel to wrap up into themed packages for a specific group of recipients such as:

  • New moms
  • Bat Mitzvah girls
  • Kallahs (Brides)
  • School children

Using the items they shopped for, the clothing already in the Israeli branches, and a decorated handwritten note, Kesher participants build heartwarming packages of love as an activity on their Israel trip.

It’s a great way to get involved in doing good for those who have less and learn about being a caring member of Klal Yisrael. Last but not least, it’s SO much fun!

Mitzvah Adventure!
