Hi! My name is Reese Levy, and I’m from Chicago, Illinois. I’m a 7th grader at Bernard Zell Anshe Emet Day School, and I will celebrate my Bat Mitzvah on June 6, 2026.

 

Being Jewish and feeling connected to Israel has always been an important part of my life. I’ve attended Jewish preschool, elementary school, and middle school, and my Papa is Israeli, which makes that connection even more meaningful to me.

 

This year has been especially exciting because I’ve celebrated so many Bar and Bat Mitzvahs with my friends — which means lots of dressing up! I love fashion and getting ready for special occasions. Some of my dresses are special hand-me-downs from older cousins and friends, and others are from my favorite boutique, Frankie’s on the Park. Getting dressed up makes me feel confident and joyful, and I love how meaningful it feels to celebrate together.

 

That’s why I chose to dedicate my Bat Mitzvah project to Yad Leah by hosting a Mitzvah Dress Drive. Yad Leah operates boutique-style clothing stores in Israel where women and girls in need can shop with dignity. The stores are organized, welcoming, and thoughtfully set up — creating a true shopping experience. I believe every girl deserves to feel confident and beautiful, especially when celebrating a Mitzvah.

 

It would mean so much to me if my family and friends would participate in my project.

 

Dress donations can be dropped off at Frankie’s on the Park (1210 W. Webster, Chicago) beginning March 1, 2026. On March 28, 2026, we will host a special in-store dress drive from 1:00–3:00 PM. I will be there to help collect donations and personally say thank you, and donors will receive a small thank-you gift. After that, donations may continue through May 1, 2026(please look for the donation box). All items will be shipped to Israel.

 

If you do not have a dress to donate, you can also sponsor a Bat Mitzvah dress for $36.

 

Dress Guidelines:
• Sleeves required (cap sleeves are okay)
• Strapless or spaghetti-strap dresses must include a matching jacket
• Skirts and tops are welcome
• Items must be in excellent condition
