Hey! I am Gabriella Adelson, but you can call me Gabby. I am from Newton, Massachusetts, and my Bat-Mitzvah date is October 18th of this year. Over the last few years, I have become very passionate about clothes and fashion. Going to a Jewish preschool and elementary school, I have always been passionate about my Jewish heritage and Israel. When October 7th happened, I was very sad because my great-grandparents are Holocaust survivors, and they would not want there to be a war. I also have family who live in Israel.
When I began to do research for my mitzvah project, I knew I wanted to do something related to fashion and Israel, then I came across Yad Leah. I instantly knew I wanted to dedicate my mitzvah project to Yad Leah. After hearing more about Yad Leah from the staff, I decided I want to do a clothing drive. I like that Yad Leah has a lot of stores in Israel and that people who can’t afford clothes can shop at. I also like that the store’s clothes are nicely organized and that the clothes feel clean and fresh, so it still feels like a shopping experience at a store that is in a mall. My goal for my Mitzvah project is to raise 1000 pieces of clothing and 1000 dollars. It would be amazing for family and friends to donate. Please donate to my Mitzvah Project!
